Music Technology |
Computers are becoming more
and more a part of our everyday, and are used in many areas
of todays music - from composing elements to the performing
process; the recording of music to the editing and production
of music. Computer-aided-composition seems to be paving the
way for a new century of music, and whether it's the next
No.1 hit single, soundscapes, film music, sound effects or
contemporary performance/dance music you're interested in,
discovering the possibilities could have you glued to your
Apple Macs for unsociably long hours!
Visit Sonic
Hybrid for an insight into alien
soundscapes (realised on a Mac!) and free
mp3s/real audio tracks.
One-to-One tuition is offered to cater to
the individual's needs and interests. Options
involve and include The Basics of Music Technology;
Sound Creation/Composition; Engineering, Recording,
Editing and Production areas; Music to Film/Video/Dance
etc, and History. Group Tuition and Day-Courses
are available with varied course structures.
Options include: Creating your own CD; Using
Technology in Performances; Basics of Music
Technology; Sound for Web/Multimedia etc...

Theory of Music |
"At
least Learn the Rules before you Break
Them"
All Instrumental tuition will, and has to, involve the
Theory of Music to some extent.
Theory of Music tuition is available in group or individual
classes, private tuition or online/remote
learning, and covers all levels, following the
ABRSM exams (exams may or may not be undertaken, as
individually required).

History of Music |
History of Music is as important
as it is interesting and I would suggest that even those
who have little desire to become an instrumentalist or
composer take a wander through the ages.
'GCSE' Level and 'A' Level students requiring help or
extra tuition in Music Theory and Music History are welcome.
Get more involved with your instrument - look into the
history of your particular instrument - find out how your
instrument came about, who was the first composer to write
something for it? how has it evolved over the years? why
has it evolved? how does it work?!
